St Louis County Proposition 1 is a measure on the November 4, 2008 ballot in St. Louis County, Missouri. The measure seeks to increase the county sales tax by a quarter of a cent, and to use that money to fund programs to support troubled youth and to strengthen families.

Text of Question

Shall St. Louis County, solely for the purposes of establishing a community children services fund for the purpose of providing services to protect the well-being and safety of children and youth nineteen years of age or less and to strengthen families, be authorized to levy a sales tax of one-quarter of a cent in the County of St. Louis? [1]

Endorsements

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch endorsed the measure, saying "Voters should Vote Yes for Proposition 1 and put the needs of St. Louis County kids first". [2]
