Hawkins was running in the 2012 election for Idaho House of Representatives District 34A. He was running against Douglas A. Hancey Jr., Bill Hunter, Harold R. Jones and Dan Roberts in the Republican primary on May 15, 2012, but withdrew from the race on March 29.[1] Lary S. Larson is running unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[2]
