Stan Wise is a member of the Georgia Public Service Commission, representing District 5. Wise, a Republican, was first elected in 1994. He served as Chairman in 1997, 1999, 2006 and 2011.[1]

Biography

Wise owned and operated an insurance business in Cobb County for 20 years. From 1992 to 1994 he was a Board Member of the ten-county Atlanta Regional Commission. He was first elected to the GPSC in 1994 and has served since.[1]

Wise was first elected to represent District 5 on the Georgia Public Service Commission in 1994. He was subsequently re-elected three times, most recently on November 6, 2012. He served as the commission Chairman in 1997, 1999, 2006, and 2011.

Wise ran successfully for re-election in 2012. He defeated Pam Davidson in the Republican primary on July 31. No Democrats filed for office, but Wise faced Libertarian candidate David Staples, whom he defeated, in the general election on November 6, 2012.[4][5]
