A Stark County Criminal Sales Tax Implementation measure was on the November 8, 2011 ballot in Stark County.

  • NO 53,274 (44.2%)[1]

This measure sought to implement a sales tax set at a rate of .5 percent for a period of eight years in order to help pay for criminal and administrative justice services in the county.[2] The Stark County Criminal Justice Reform Committee and the North Canton Area Chamber of Commerce had both given their endorsement behind this measure. Both noted that the tax is for the benefit of the community, reopening the rest of the jail and ensuring that public safety is still in the forefront.[3]
