State by State Poll Open/Close Times (all times local)
Alabama
In Alabama, all polls are open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Central Time[1].
Alaska
In Alaska, all polling places are open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Alaska Time[2].
Arkansas
In Arkansas, all polling places will be open from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm on Election Day. When the polls close, if you are in line, you will be permitted to vote[3].
Arizona
In Arizona, all polling places are open from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Mountain Time[4].
California
All polls in California are open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Pacific Time[5].
Colorado
In Colorado, the polls are open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Mountain Time [6].
Connecticut
In Connecticut, all polling places will be open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Eastern Time on election day[7].
Delaware
In Delaware, the polls are open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, Eastern Time. If you are in line waiting to vote at closing time, you may cast your vote even if it is done after 8:00 pm[8].
District of Columbia (DC)
All polls in Washington, DC are open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Eastern Time[9].
Florida
In Florida, all polls are open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Eastern Time[10].
Georgia
In Georgia, polls are open from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM Eastern Time on Election Day. Any voter who is waiting in line to vote at 7:00 PM will be allowed to vote. Peak voting hours are historically from 7:00 am until 9:30 am, 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm, and during the mid-day lunch hour[11].
Hawaii
In Hawaii, polls are open from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Hawaii Time[12].
Idaho
In Idaho, all polls will be open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Mountain and Pacific Times[13].
Illinois
In, Illinois all polls are open from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM Central Time[14].
Indiana
In Indiana all polls will be open from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time[15].
Iowa
In Iowa, all polls will be open from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM Central time, one of the longest poll open and close times in the nation [16].
Kansas
In Kansas, most polls are open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Central Time as Kansas mandates in its state laws that the polls must be open a minimum of twelve (12) hours[17].
Kentucky
In Kentucky, all polls are open from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, Central and Eastern Time. All those in line by 6:00 pm will be able to vote[18].
Louisiana
In Louisiana all polls are open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM Central Time[19].
Maine
The polls must be open no earlier than 6:00 am and no later than 9:00 am on Election Day; except in municipalities with a population of less than 4,000, the polls must be opened no later than 10:00 am on Election Day. The municipal officers of each municipality shall determine the time of opening the polls within these limits. The polls must be closed by 8:00 pm on Election Day; except in municipalities of population less than 100 which may close the polls after all registered voters have voted. The municipal clerk shall state the times of opening and closing the polls in the notice of the election. If you are in line when the location closes, you can still register and vote. All times listed are Eastern Time[20].
Maryland
In Maryland, all polling places are open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Eastern Time[21].
Massachusetts
For all elections, except local elections, the polls must be open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, Eastern Time. If you are in line at the polls by 8:00 pm, you are entitled to vote[22].
Michigan

Minnesota
In Minnesota, most polling places are open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm Central Time. However, some townships outside the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro Area have shorter hours. Please contact your county auditor or township clerk for details[24].
Mississippi
All polling places in Mississippi are open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Eastern Time[25].
Missouri
In Missouri, all polling places are open from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM Central Time [26].
Montana
In Montana, polling place hours throughout the state vary. Polling places open between 7:00 am and 12:00 pm and close at 8:00 pm. Contact your local elections official for exact times[27].
Nebraska
In Nebraska, all polling locations will be open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm central time and 7:00 am to 7:00 pm mountain time[28].
Nevada
All polling places in Nevada will be open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Pacific Time[29].
New Hampshire
In New Hampshire, the polling place hours of operation vary in New Hampshire. In general, polling places open between 6:00 am and 11:00 am and close at 7:00 pm or 8:00 pm, Eastern Time. Voters in New Hampshire should contact their municipal clerk's office for actual polling place times[30].
New Mexico
In New Mexico, all polls will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Mountain Time on Election Day[31].
New Jersey
In New Jersey, all polls are open from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm Eastern Time[32].
New York State
In New York, all polling places will be open from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Eastern Time.
North Carolina
In North Carolina, the polling places will be open from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM Eastern Time[33].
North Dakota
In North Dakota, most polling places are open from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm Central and Mountain time, but some areas open 7:00 am to 7:00 pm or 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. It is best to check with your local county election officials before Election Day[34].
Ohio
In Ohio, all polling places will be open from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM Eastern Time, however if you are in line at the time of the poll closing at 7:30 PM you will be given the right to vote[35].
Oklahoma
In Oklahoma, all polls are open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Central Time[36].
Oregon
In Oregon, it is an elections by mail state, however a voter can still vote on election day at their local municipal clerks office 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Pacific Time[37].
Pennsylvania
In Pennsylvania, all polls are open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Eastern Time[38].
Rhode Island
In Rhode Island, all polling places will be open from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm, Eastern Time. Opening hours may vary, but all polls close at 9:00 pm[39].
South Carolina
In South Carolina, all polls are open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Eastern Time[40].
South Dakota
In South Dakota, all Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Central Time for the Central Time Zone region of South Dakota and 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Mountain Time. Any voter at the polling place prior to 7:00 pm is allowed to cast a ballot[41].
Tennessee
In Tennessee, the polls are close between 8:00 pm Eastern and 7:00 pm Central time. The polls must be open a minimum of 10 hours and may be open for a maximum of 13 hours, it is important that voters in Tennessee call their municipal clerk for poll opening times[42].
Texas
In Texas, all polling places are open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Central Time[43].
Utah
Vermont
The polling place hours vary in Vermont with polls open between 5:00 am and 10:00 am and close at 7:00 pm, Eastern Time[44].
Virginia
In Virginia, all polls are open from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Eastern Time[45].
Washington State
All polling places in Washington state are open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Pacific Time on Election Day[46].
West Virginia
In West Virginia, all polling places are open from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM Eastern Time[47]
Wisconsin
In Wisconsin, all polls are open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Central Time[48].
Wyoming
in Wyoming, all polling places are open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Mountain Time on Election Day[49].
