2014

Forty-two states are scheduled to hold state executive official elections on November 4, 2014. A total of 215 state executive officials will be elected. That is more than double the number of positions that were elected in 2012, when 94 positions were elected.

2013

A total of six elections will have been held in 2013. Wisconsin held their election for Superintendent earlier this year while both New Jersey and Virginia will be holding elections for the positions of Governor and Lieutenant Governor. Virginia will also be holding elections for Attorney General.

Twenty-two states held state executive official elections in 2012. In those elections, a total of 37 state executive seats and 57 down ballot seats were up for election. Wisconsin also held two special recall elections for Gov. Scott Walker and Lt. Gov Rebecca Kleefisch on June 5, 2012.

2011

Four states were scheduled to have state executive official elections in 2011. A total of 13 state executive seats and 13 down ballot seats were up for election.

2010

37 gubernatorial and lieutenant gubernatorial elections were held in 2010. Along with those, thirty attorney general elections and twenty-six secretary of state elections were scheduled.
