Three states are scheduled to hold state executive official elections in 2013: New Jersey, Virginia and Wisconsin. In those elections, a total of 6 state executive seats are up for election.

New Jersey
Two state executive positions are up for election in New Jersey in 2013:
The primary election will be held on June 4, 2013, followed by the general election on November 5, 2013.
Virginia
Three state executive seats are up for election in Virginia in 2013:
[1] The Republican primary convention will take place on May 17-18, 2013.[2]. The Democratic primary election is scheduled for June 11, 2013.
The general election will be held November 5, 2013.[3]
Wisconsin
One state executive position was up for election in Wisconsin in 2013:
Only two candidates filed for the nonpartisan position of Wisconsin Superintendent of Public Instruction, enabling them to bypass the February 19, 2013 primary election and automatically advance to the general election, which was held on April 2, 2013.[4] Incumbent Tony Evers won re-election on April 2, 2013, defeating challenger Don Pridemore with over 61% of the vote.

**Beginning in 2013, the Republican party of Virginia will select its candidates for governor, lt. governor, and attorney general by a party-funded primary nominating convention. The Democratic party will continue to nominate gubernatorial candidates by taxpayer-funded primary election.
