Hanley is retired. He has worked as a journeyman pipe fitter, police officer, and served in the United States Air Force.
Hanley is a member of the American Legion, Eagles, Gardiner Sportsman Club, Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, Maine Emerald Police Society, Sportsman Alliance of Maine, Gardiner Area Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors, and the Riverview Federal Credit Union Board of Directors.[1]
