Elections

Lathrop is reportedly considering bids for Governor of Nebraska and U.S. Senate in the 2014 elections. Gov. Dave Heineman is term-limited from running for re-election, and freshman Senator Mike Johanns plans to vacate his seat upon completion of his current term, leaving both seats open.[2][3][4]
Before Johanns announced he would not seek re-election in 2014, Lathrop was already discussing a run for Congress. "People have talked about that. I’ve had some people talk to me about it," he said in Nov. 2012.[5]
