Biography
Ogden graduated with a B.S. in foreign affairs from the United States Naval Academy in 1973 and also graduated from the Naval Nuclear Power Plant in 1974. He later obtained an M.B.A. from Texas A&M University.
In addition to being a senator, he is the president of Ogden Resources Corporation. He also holds the title of oil and gas producer. Prior to his position in the state senate, he was a member of the Texas House of representatives from 1990 to 1996.[1]
Ogden announced in September 2011 that he would not be running for re-election in 2012.[2]

Ogden won re-election to the 5th District Seat in 2010. He defeated Ben Bius in the GOP primary on March 3, 2010. Ogden received 47,699 votes while Bius received 22,165.[4]
Ogden defeated Democratic opponent Stephen Wyman in the general election that took place on November 2, 2010. [5]
