Steve Wilkins was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of North Carolina.[1] Wilkins defeated Antoinette Toni Morris in the Democratic primary on May 8, 2012.[2]

Wilkins was defeated by Republican incumbent Renee Ellmers on November 6, 2012.[3]

Wilkins ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent North Carolina's 2nd District. Wilkins defeated Antoinette Toni Morris in the May 8, 2012, Democratic primary. He was then defeated by Renee Ellmers in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2]

The Washington Post listed the House of Representatives elections in North Carolina in 2012 as one of the states that could have determined whether Democrats retook the House or Republicans held their majority in 2013.[4] North Carolina was rated 8th on the list.[4][5]
