Convicted of fraud
In February 2009 Schmitz was found guilty on three counts of Federal mail fraud and four counts of fraud involving a program receiving federal funds. In July she was sentenced to 30 months in prison, 3 years supervised probation, 360 hours of community service, and ordered to pay $177, 251 in restitution.
