Supreme Court Justice temporarily blocks R-71 names
OLYMPIA, Washington: Yesterday, Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy temporarily blocked state officials from releasing any names on Referendum 71 petitions. Kennedy's temporary block comes only days after the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals issued an order to release the names on R-71 petitions. Kennedy's Monday ruling resulted after Protect Marriage Washington requested that the United States Supreme Court review the recent ruling by the Court of Appeals.
