These measures were later removed.
The township of Sylvania and the city of Perrysburg both approved measures to ask residents if they wanted to withdrawal from the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA). Proponents of withdrawing from TARTA note that most of the transit buses are empty and yet they are forced to pay money towards services which they do not receive. Initially the questions were set for a June vote, but authorities in the township and city did not want to be charged for 2013 services so pushed the issue to an earlier date. If residents choose to opt out of the authority, both areas would seek to implement local bus services so there would still be the option for those who do use buses to get around.
