Tanya Shewell (b. March 9, 1944) was a Republican member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 5A from her appointment in August 2004 to January 12, 2011. Shewell served as Deputy Minority Whip.

Shewell is the Manager and Owner of Shewell Enterprises. She previously worked as Executive Director of Granite House Incorporated, Manager of Admissions Services at Carroll Lutheran Healthcare Center, and a Rehabilitation Supervisor for the State Department of Education.

Shewell is State Membership Chair of the Maryland Federation of Republican Women, and a member of the Roaring Run Lion's Club, American Legislative Exchange Council, Carroll County Historical Society, National Conference of State Legislatures, Maryland Veterans Caucus, and the Maryland Rural Caucus.[1]

On November 7, 2006, Tanya Shewell ran for District 5A of the Maryland House of Delegates, winning the second of two seats, losing to Nancy Stocksdale but beating Ann Darrin and Frank Rammes.[2]
