Usage

Project = If state legislator, put SLP. If state executive, put SEO.
Name = Name of politician
Profile picture = Image file
Political party = Party the person belongs to (make sure to use "Republican", "Democratic" (not "Democrat"), "Libertarian", and "Green",
or the color coding won't work well. The names of other 3rd parties are not associated with color coding and do not need
to be standardized.)
Position = Descriptive name of the office currently held by or most immediately held by the person, e.g. Mississippi
House of Representatives District 1 or Governor of Texas.
Status = Whether person is an incumbent, former officeholder or candidate.
Predecessor = Include the predecessor of the current position if desired (not a required component)
IF THE PERSON IS AN INCUMBENT AND IS RUNNING FOR AN OFFICE (S)HE HAS NOT HELD BEFORE, INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING.
Current candidacy = If person is an incumbent running for an office he does not currently hold, fill in that office here.
Otherwise, leave blank.
Current candidacy election date = Date of election if person is running for an office he does not currently hold.
<Current office section>
Tenure = Period of time person has been in office from first election/appointment. Example of correct format: "January 1, 2011 - Present"
Term ends = Exact date that the current term ends. If exact date is unavailable, use year
Assumed office = If person is an incumbent, insert the year they assumed office (NOT the year they were elected) here. DO NOT add
months. Just add the year.
<Leadership section> - SLP writers - ONLY include the following positions: Speaker, President (pro tempore) of the Senate, Majority/Minority Leader.
Leadership = Name of current or most recently held leadership position
Years leadership = Date this leadership position was assumed to date it was ended or will end, if it is a current position.

Years leadership 2 = See years leadership

<Compensation" section>
Base salary = Base salary for current position. Example: "$40,000".
Per diem = Per diem for current position. Example: "$124/day".
Pension = Pension earned in current position.
<Elections and appointments>
Last election = Date of the most recent election that resulted in this person serving his/her current term. If the person is a first term
incumbent, DO NOT INCLUDE THIS FIELD.
Nominated = Date this person was nominated (Used for positions like cabinet members)
Confirmed = Date this person was confirmed (Used for positions like cabinet members)
Appointed = Date this person was appointed, if they were appointed instead of elected.
Appointed by = Who appointed this person; e.g., "[[Governor of Arizona]]"
First elected = Exact date if known. Otherwise, use month/year if not known.
Term limits = If applicable. Use the format "X terms" or "X consecutive terms""
Next election = Date that the next election will be held for the position currently held. If the person can't run because of TL,
write "Term-limited."
Campaign $ = Career campaign contributions, information will be available in the Campaign Contributions section of the profile.
<Prior offices section>
Prior office = Name of position held immediately prior to current position.
Prior office years = This should look something like "2002-2008", including day/month if available.

<Education section> - For higher education degrees, DO NOT include an abbreviation of the degree name (B.A., B.S., etc.) and DO NOT include degree major/subject matter.
The standard format should include year of graduation if available. Examples: "Yale University (2000)", "Central High School (1990)", "Coolest Community College (1984)", etc.
High school = Name of high school, if known, and year of graduation.
Associate's = Name of school where associate's was earned and year of graduation.
Bachelor's = Name of college where the politician pursued an undergraduate degree and year of graduation.
Master's = Name of college from which a master's degree was obtained, and year of graduation. Example: "Yale University (2000)"
J.D. = Name of law school, if known, and year of graduation.
Ph.D. = Name of graduate institute and year diploma was granted. Example: "Harvard University (2000)"
M.D. = Name of medical school.
Other = Name of institution where technical certification or other degree was earned, and year of graduation.

Military = Name of branch of military.
Years of service = Years served in this branch of the military
Military 2 = Other service
Years of service 2 = (See Years of service)
Citations = Names of citations received, such as Purple Heart, Bronze Star, etc.
<Personal section>
Birthday = Month/day/year, if known.
Place of birth = City/State, if known.
Profession = Profession outside of political service.
Net worth = Net worth of the elected official. Currently only set for Congress.
Religion = Religious affiliation, if this person makes it known.
<Website section>
Office website = URL of this person's official website, if one exists. Do not include any description.
Campaign website = URL of this person's campaign website, if one exists. Do not include any description.
Personal website = URL of this person's personal website, including Facebook, Twitter, or other social media sites, if one exists. Do not include any description.
