The (Nashville) Tennesseean Editorial Board Raises Concerns over Voting Fraud
One of the largest newspapers in Tennessee, the Nashville Tennesseean, has raised concerns that there is shaky trust in Tennessee's Election System and there is cause for concern in elections fraud.[1]
Concern
According to the editorial: "Only two of the state's 95 counties, Hamilton and Pickett, had voting machines that produce a paper record when Gov. Phil Bredesen signed the Voter Confidence Act into law this summer. That law requires voting machines purchased after Jan. 1, 2008, have a paper trail and that all counties have such machines by 2010. But the vast majority of Tennesseans who vote over the next few weeks will do so on touch-screen machines that critics say are vulnerable to tampering or error."[1]
Keeping vigil
"The bottom line: As concerned voters, we are the best custodians of our rights. Do not hesitate to notify authorities if you believe an election irregularity is taking place."[1]
"This is a right Americans should never take for granted, least of all in 2008."[1]
