Schooley is the Director of KIDS COUNT at the University of Delaware. She has previously served as Director of Development of Planned Parenthood of Delaware, Director of the ERA Countdown Campaign, and a teacher in the Jefferson County School District.
She is a member of African-American Involvement in the Vietnam War, President of the Delaware School Boards Association of the Governors Infant Mortality Task Force, and the Task Force on Full Day Kindergarten.[1]

Schooley won re-election to the 23rd District Seat in 2010. She had no opposition in the September 14 primary. Schooley defeated Bill Stritzinger (R) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[3]

On November 4, 2008, Schooley won re-election to the Delaware House of Representatives from Delaware's 23rd District, defeating Jesse Priester (R and L). Schooley received 6,098 votes in the election while Priester received 2,038 votes.[4] Schooley raised $24,233 for her campaign; Priester raised $4,109.[5]
