The history of term limits in Nebraska began in 1992 when voters approved the Term Limits Act of 1992 with 68.2% of the vote. It limited legislators and statewide officials to two consecutive terms, U.S. Representatives to four consecutive terms, and U.S. Senators to two consecutive terms.
