Rogers won a November 8, 2011 special election for the seat, which was vacant following Rick Austin's (R) resignation to run in the special election for District 50 of the Georgia State Senate.[1]

Rogers won re-election in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 10. Rogers ran unopposed in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012. The general election took place on November 6, 2012. [2] Rogers won re-election in the general election.[3]

Rogers defeated Bruce Harkness, Sr. (R) and Lori Duke Jones (R) in the November 8 special election. Since he received a majority of the vote, a run-off election will not be held. Party affiliation was listed, and all candidates appeared on the same ballot.[4][5]
