The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 10, 2014. Incumbent Terry W. Gipson was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Susan J. Serino was unopposed in the Republican primary. Gipson is running on the Working Families Party, Green Party and Tax Revolt Party tickets. Serino is running on the Conservative Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. Gipson and Serino will face off in the general election.[1]
