Thomas Barland

Thomas Barland (b. March 3, 1930) was a member of the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board a governmental agency of Wisconsin administering elections and ethics laws in Wisconsin. His term expired May 1, 2015. He was selected to serve as Chair for 2011.

Professional career

Barland served as a Republican member of the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1961-1965[1] and on the Eau Claire County Circuit Court from 1967-2000. He is one of Wisconsin's longest-serving judges and received the 2009 State Bar Lifetime Jurist Achievement Award.[2]

Government Accountability Board

Barland was appointed to the board by Governor Jim Doyle and was confirmed to the Board on a vote by the Wisconsin State Senate.
