Thuy Tran was a 2012 Democratic candidate for District 47 of the Oregon House of Representatives.

Tran, a Doctor of Optometry, is the owner of Rose City Vision Care, a Major in the Air National Guard, and a mother of three. She maintains membership in Lion’s Club Member and Past President, Vice President-Vietnamese Community of Oregon.

Tran ran in the 2012 election for Oregon House District 47. Tran was defeated by Jessica Vega Pederson in the Democratic primary on May 15. Andrew Haynes also ran. Maggie Nelson ran unopposed in the Republican primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012. Incumbent Democrat Jefferson Smith did not seek re-election.[1]
