Lawrence earned her BS in Political Science and Business Administration from Shepard College. She went on to receive her MBA from Shenandoah University.
Lawrence has worked in the following positions: Owner/operator/sales associate for Little Shop Antiques, Substitute Teacher for Jefferson County Public Schools, Spokesperson for the Childrens Miracle Network, and Marketing/Public Relations Administrator for Charles Town Races and Slots. She then worked for Miss West Virginia of the Miss America Scholarship Organization in 2006.[1]

- Enact locality pay in order to recruit and retain qualified educators, administrators and service personnel.
- Provide funding for after school based mentoring programs.
- Keep our promise to WV Students by fully funding the Promise Scholarship.
Healthcare
- Decrease the number of uninsured West Virginians by expanding Medicaid coverage to modest income families and promoting employer based health insurance.
- Provide prescription drug assistance programs for West Virginias sizeable population of senior citizens
- Advance electronic medical records to improve patient safety and reduce costs
Economic Development
- Attract employers to our county by improving infrastructure and promoting our talented and diverse workforce.
- Continue to expand tourism in Jefferson County by preserving our historic and cultural heritage for future generations.
- Create agriculture viability programs that provide farmers with economic incentives and value-added opportunitites to continue actively farming in our community.

2012
Lawrence ran for re-election in the 2012 election for West Virginia House of Delegates, District 65. Lawrence defeated Richard Shuman, II in the May 8 primary election and defeated Jill Upson in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3][4]

Lawrence was re-elected in District 58 in the November 2, 2010 general election. She defeated Republican Blake Thompson. Lawrence was unopposed in the primary election.[5][6][7]
