This measure sought to renew the current library levy which is set at a rate of $.65 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for operational costs of the libraries in the county. Library officials noted that without the continued money the libraries would be forced to close as this levy was their only source of revenue to pay for general needs.[2]
