Past university involvement

Asher used to work at the North Central Missouri College in Trenton. He first contacted Ward Connerly asking about the legality of race-based scholarships at the college. Later that year his contract was not renewed.

Asher proceeded to sue the school, citing his objections to diversity scholarships as the reason for the firing. The school maintains that Asher was let go for insubordination. A circuit judge in Grundy County ruled last year that the lawsuit had no merit. Asher has appealed the decision.[2]

Career

Asher worked with inner city at-risk youth in Kansas City as Boys Coordinator for The KEY Program (Keep Encouraging Youth). The program was run by the Salvation Army. Prior to that Asher worked in defense contracting as a cost analyst with McDonnell Douglas Missile Systems Company in Florida.

Education

A graduate of Odessa High School in Missouri, Asher went on to earn a degree in Theology from Moody Bible Institute and later obtained his MBA from William Woods University.
