Prior to his election to the House, Smola served as a Palmer Selectman from 2000-2004.
He is an education liaison for Palmer Public Schools, and a member of the Polish American Citizens Club, Saint Joseph's Society in Thorndike, Saint Stan's Lyceum in Three Rivers, Saint Peter and Paul Parish Council, and Sons of Amvets.[1]
