This measure sought to add a levy of $7.80 per $1,000 of assessed value, in order to pay for school services and help bring back some of the programs that were cut due to budget shortfalls. Though the levy money will not allow for all programs to be restored, school officials noted that at least the school would be able to run those essential programs.[2]

The school district officially kicked off its campaign September 15, in the hopes that with more information voters would be more informed and more likely to vote in favor of the measure. A similar measure was defeated in May and school officials already had to let go of teacher and cut back programs. The were now hoping that residents would see the issues more clearly and vote in favor.[3]
