Tom worked for his family business, Casperson and Son Trucking, for 27 years. His work in the trucking industry, particularly a 1997 log truck accident spurred Tom to act, leading him to invent a safer way to transport lumber. He drafted a bill, and it was eventually signed into law by the governor in 2003.
