Jensen attended Sue Bennett Junior College. He went on to earn his Bachelors in Secondary Education from Cumberland College. He then received his JD from Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University in 1978.
Jensen is former Legal Counsel for the Republican Caucus of the Kentucky House of Representatives. He has also been an attorney since 1978.

Jensen ran for re-election in the 2012 election for Kentucky State Senate District 21. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on May 22, 2012, but withdrew before the general election on November 6, 2012. [1][2]
