Tom Knox was a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing the 24th District from 2001-2011. In 2010 he sought the Republican nomination for insurance commissioner, but lost in the primary.[1] Knox was defeated in his bid for the District 26 Georgia House of Representatives seat in 2012. Knox was defeated by Geoff Duncan in the Republican primary.[2]
Knox is an attorney.
He is a member of many organizations, including Atlanta Pier and Sail Association, Forsyth County Criminal Defense Bar, Forsyth County Humane Society, Georgia Bar Association, Georgia Right To Life, Good Shepherd Church, Mentor Me Association, and the National Rifle Association.[3]

Knox ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 26. Knox was defeated by Geoff L. Duncan in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012.[2] The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[4][5]
