Biography
Bice's professional experience began teaching at the Alabama Institutie for the Deaf and Blind. From there, he went on to serve in a variety of rolls, culminating in him serving as Alabama's Deputy State Superintendent of Education for Instructional Services. He other rolls included high school principal and city school superintendent.[2]

Bice was appointed in November 2011 to replace Joseph B. Morton, who had served since July 13, 2004. Morton announced his retirement in June, 2011.[3] Bice was serving as Deputy Alabama school superintendent when he was selected by the state school board on November 10, 2011.[4]
