Sessoms ran in the 2010 election for Michigan State House District 99. Sessoms was defeated by Republican Kevin Cotter in the general election on November 2, 2010. Sessoms defeated Peter Gallinat and Carl Hamann in the Democratic primary election on August 3, 2010.[2][3]
