Tort law on the ballot

Jump to: navigation, search

Tort law on the ballot: Sometimes referred to as "tort reform," this subtopic of "state judiciary" refers to ballot measures regarding tort. Tort is "a wrongful act, not including a breach of contract or trust, that results in injury to another's person, property, reputation, or the like, and for which the injured party is entitled to compensation." That is to say, ballot measures regarding one's ability to sue for damages, and the amount that can be awarded in such cases.[1]
