Richmond, VA: Ken Cuccinelli, Virginia's current attorney general announced his run for governor in 2013. Since his announcement, two state Republican lawmakers have shown interested in running for their party's nomination to succeed Cuccinelli.

Delegate Robert Bell (Charlottesville) announced his candidacy at a news conference last month. Bell is a former prosecutor and head of the Virginia State Crime Commission. He touts himself as a "conservative and a crime fighter," and prosecuted more than 2,400 cases while working in Orange County. state Senator Mark Obenshain also announced he will explore the possibility of running a campaign, though nothing has been formalized.[1][2]
