Ty Masterson is a Republican member of the Kansas State Senate, representing District 16 since 2009. From 2005 to 2008, he was a Representative in the Kansas House of Representatives. He has also served on the Andover City Council.

Masterson ran for re-election in the 2012 election for Kansas State Senate District 16. Masterson was unopposed in the August 7 Republican primary and was unopposed in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[7][8][9]
2008
On November 4, 2008, Masterson was elected to the 16th District Seat in the Kansas State Senate, defeating Peter DeVries (D).[10] In 2008 Masterson raised $90,902 for his campaign, while DeVries raised $62,579.[11]
