Ty McCartney was a 2012 Democratic candidate for District 8 of the Utah State Senate.

McCartney ran in the 2012 election for Utah State Senate District 8. He and Josie Valdez defeated R. Scott Baker Democratic convention. Valdez subsequently defeated McCartney in the June 26, 2012 Democratic primary. Valdez faces Republican Brian Shiozawa in the general election on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
