A Umatilla City Airport Improvement Authority Amendment question is on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Lake County, which is in Florida, where it was defeated.

If approved, this question would have amended the Umatilla City Charter to remove the requirement currently in the Charter to hold a referendum before expanding the Municipal Airport.[1]

Language on the ballot:

Under the current Charter, the City may not expand the Municipal Airport of the City or acquire real property by gift or purchase to expand the Municipal Airport without prior approval of the voters. The proposed amendment to Article XII, Section 1.10 removes the requirement to hold a referendum before expanding the Municipal Airport.
