On January 27, 2012, Judge Gary Sharpe moved the primary date from September 11, 2012 to June 26, 2012 in order to allow for sufficient time to send absentee ballots to military voters.[2]

The Center for Voting and Democracy (Fairvote) projected that Democrats would win 15 districts while Republicans would win one seat. It did not make a projection for the remaining 11 districts.[4]
