Recent edits on I-1098

Hi PoliticoWA. In light of the massive edits and "edit warfare" on I-1098 today I'm going to go through each and every edit made. I'll be reviewing the sources and language used. Because I suspect that as the elections approach this article may become a big point of discussion, I'm inviting you to discuss any discrepancies or concerns on the talk page of the article. This should help ease and prevent major "edit warfares." Thanks! BaileyL 10:41, 5 October 2010 (CDT) (This same message is being sent to other contributors of that page.)

We had quite the influx of user changes to the Washington measures last night. As usual, I will be reviewing every single change today. Like I've told those users, I encourage you to use the Talk page for discussion. Thanks!BaileyL 07:29, 13 October 2010 (CDT)

Opponents response to tax analysis

Hi recently added a response by Defeat1098. Unfortunately posting an entire blog post is against Ballotpedia's policies. If you summarize their rebuttal, then that section can be re-created. Thanks! BaileyL 10:18, 14 October 2010 (CDT)

Newspaper editorials vs. endorsements

PLEASE be careful when you add articles to the "endorsements section." The endorsements section is there to highlight which newspapers/websites/blogs approve/disapprove of measures according to Ballotpedia guidelines. Some of the articles you have added are not "endorsements" and are instead "columns" or "editorials" by sole staff members. A staff member may have a different opinion than that of the whole newspaper. Please be careful. If you still have concerns about this, please contact me and don't simply revert changes made. This leads to edit warfare and confusion to readers. This is what the discussion page is for. BaileyL 10:00, 18 October 2010 (CDT)

The Port Orchard editorial was removed b/c it was unclear whether it was written by the editorial board or if it was a column by a single staff writer. I will leave it up for now since this cannot be verified. However, if I discover that this was not an endorsement, it will be removed. For further questions on this PLEASE follow our discussion policies and post a comment on the discussion page or send me an email. Thanks! BaileyL 11:57, 18 October 2010 (CDT)
Please allow me to finish editing the media editorial section of the I-1098 article. Thanks. BaileyL 17:04, 20 October 2010 (CDT)

Maintain civility

Just an FYI

Leslie Graves 17:15, 15 October 2010 (CDT)

Just wanted to take a minute and say thanks for hanging in there on 1098 through the thicks and thins of the last few weeks of editing. It's really turned into an incredibly informative article. Leslie Graves 14:53, 27 October 2010 (CDT)

Thanks for the update on the I-1098 poll! It was very much appreciated. And as Leslie said above, thank you for your many contributions to the article! BaileyL 09:18, 29 October 2010 (CDT)

My pleasure, Leslie and Bailey. Thank you both for all of your hard work on Ballotpedia. I know there are a lot of measure to cover, and you guys have done an outstanding job covering them. I know it's probably tough having to update the pages AND control the edit wars all the time, so thanks for staying patient. :) PoliticoWA 07:27, 29 October 2010 (PST)

Washington Poll stats

I-1098 article = I noticed you recently updated the latest Washington Poll stats but after the link you cited, some of the numbers don't match up (the dates of the survey was the one that I noticed off the bat). Are these results simply two different polls - PubliCola Oct. 5-14 Washington Poll stats versus Washington Poll stats Oct. 18-28 - or are they the same poll with different reports...I'm a bit confused. Looks like two different polls by Washington Poll since the dates they were conducted are different. Am I reading this wrong? BaileyL 14:29, 31 October 2010 (CDT)

I-1098 article = I was confused too. Basically, there were two separate polls taken by the Washington Poll. The first wave was Oct. 5-14. The second wave was from Oct. 18-28. They polled registered voters both times, and then combined both polls to come up with 695 likely voters. They didn't break down the likely voters in the first and second polls, however. They just added up the total to come up with 54%-43%. I didn't know if I was correct to combine them or not, or whether to put the two Registered Voter polls (51%-42% and 50%-44%), and then add another line for the Likely Voter poll. I figured since every other poll has measured Likely Voters, that would be the one to use. PoliticoWA 12:40, 31 October 2010 (PST)

Okay, this makes a lot of sense now! Thank you for clarifying it in the poll description on the measure page. BaileyL 19:06, 1 November 2010 (CDT)

2011 ballot measures

Just wanted to drop by and say welcome back! and thank you for the poll updates to I-1125 and I-1183. BaileyL 13:03, 11 October 2011 (CDT)

My pleasure! Great job on making those pages easy to navigate! - PoliticoWA 19:11, 17 October 2011 (PST)

2012 Washington endorsements

Hello! Thank you so much for you additions to this page. Great work. Do you have the links for these editorial endorsements that you added so I may cite them on the corresponding ballot measure pages? Thank you and I look forward to seeing more of your contributions!
