Clark is a retired education; she taught in Gwinnett County before serving as principal for Duluth and Shiloh Middle Schools and Central Gwinnett High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from SUNY Plattsburgh, an MEd from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a PhD from the University of Georgia. Clark and her husband, Bob, have two children.
