Valley Transit Tax Hike (February 2010)

There will be a Valley Transit Tax Hike on the February 9, 2010 ballot in Walla Walla County.

This proposed tax increase would add .3 percent to the current rate of sales tax in the county. The money generated from the tax would go to maintain the public transportation system, mainly the bus system, which was facing cutbacks due to economic issues and budget downfalls. It was agreed by the board members to not take any action to cut services within the transit routes until after the February vote.^[1]
