This measure sought to renew the current school levy which was set at a rate of $.44 per $100 of assessed property value for a further four years in order to continue to pay for emergency requirements as needed in the school district.[2]

| Shall a levy renewing an existing levy be imposed by the Van Buren Local School District for the purpose of PROVIDING FOR THE EMERGENCY REQUIREMENTS OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT in the sum of $1,275,000 and a levy of taxes to be made outside of the ten-mill limitation estimated by the County Auditor to average 4.4 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to forty-four cents ($0.44) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for a period of four (4) years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013? |
