Branch was defeated in the 2011 election for Mississippi Senate District 10. He ran unopposed in the primary on August 2, 2011. Steve Hale defeated Michael Cathey in the Democratic primary. Hale defeated Branch in the general election on November 8, 2011.[2]

Issues

According to a May 25, 2011 message paid for by the Mississippi Republican Party, Branch "intends to work for the residents and employers of District 10 to lower taxes, reduce the price of gasoline, and fight welfare fraud."[1]

Branch is quoted saying "I believe in God, the Constitution and the freedom of all Americans. I intend to be what the people of District 10 want for a 'public servant.' I will work for the people of the district and I appreciate the opportunity."[1]
