A Vassalboro, Waterville and Winslow School Budget Approval measure was on the June 8, 2010 ballot in the respective towns which are in Kennebec County.

The school budget was approved

  • YES 879 Approveda
  • NO 263[1]

There was a vote on the shared school budget of Vassalboro, Waterville and Winslow towns which is $1.66 million. Voters were also able to have a vote on if they wanted to have a budget referendum vote in the future. State legislature has allowed it so that a referendum vote will no longer be needed to approve school budgets. Some town officials are looking to add this to the vote, feeling that the school budget vote does not accomplish much for resident voters.[2]
