Two down ballot state executive positions were up for election in the state of Vermont in 2012.
The primary took place on August 28, 2012 with the general election on November 6, 2012.[1]
Incumbent Elizabeth Pearce (D) won re-election. She was first appointed to the position in January 2011.

Incumbent Thomas Salmon (R) did not seek re-election. He was first elected in 2006. In a letter he stated, "I have achieved the goal set when I took office in January 2007 to transform the Vermont State Auditor’s Office into a first-rate performance auditing shop. It is time for me to move on to new challenges."[2]
