Village of Wheeling Emergency Service Charge Increase (February 2010)
There was a Village of Wheeling Emergency Service Charge Increase proposition on the February 2 ballot in Cook County for voters in the village of Wheeling.
This measure was defeated
- YES 1,408 (47.31%)
- NO 1,568 (52.69%)

This measure sought to increase the monthly surcharge added to land line phones, currently it is set at 75 cents, but the proposition would increase it to $1.45. The money is used to maintain and operate the emergency phone system.[2]
