Voters pushed to register multiple times

Voters have come forth saying that ACORN employees pressured them into registering to vote multiple times in order to let ACORN organizers keep a job. The Cuyahoga board of elections members have found that many ACORN canvassers had quotas and often had to scramble to meet them. The board decided during its meeting that it would turn over the ACORN investigation to the sheriff and county prosecutor's office.[1]
Testimonies
- "Sometimes, they come up and bribe me with a cigarette, or they'll give me a dollar to sign up," said Freddie Johnson, 19, who filled out 72 separate voter-registration cards over an 18-month period at the behest of the left-leaning Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.[2]
- "You can tell them you're registered as many times as you want - they do not care," said Lateala Goins, 21, who was subpoenaed.[3]
- Christopher Barkley, who registered 10-15 times said, "I kept getting approached by folks who asked me to register. They'd ask me if I was registered. I'd say yes, and they'd ask me to do it [register] again."[3]
