Electronic voting machines in West Virginia are functioning normally, according to the secretary of state and the machines' manufacturer. In response to complaints that machines in some counties were recording votes in at least two West Virginia counties are switching some voters' selections, Secretary of State Betty Ireland's office contacted local officials and recommended that they make sure the machines were calibrated correctly. Ireland also said that representatives of ES&S, which manufactured the machines, had examined them in two counties and found that they were functioning properly.[1]

Voters can notify poll workers in case of a malfunction

Ireland said that voters should tell a poll clerk if they experience problems with a voting machine on election day. She reminded voters to make sure the machine confirms that they have voted for their preferred candidate. Voters who believe a machine has mis-recorded their vote can, if they wish, have that vote canceled and vote at a different machine.[1]
