Washburn Exceed Revenue Limits (2008)

The Washburn Exceed Revenue Limits was a school bond issue on the November 4 ballot in the School District of Washburn, Washburn County. The purpose of the referendum was to exceed the state-set revenue cap by $900,000, with the funds going to the school budget. The additional funds will be used to pay basic operating costs of the district.

Text of measure

Be it resolved by the School Board of the School District of Washburn, Bayfield County, Wisconsin, that it be authorized to exceed the revenue limits imposed by Section 121.91(2m) of the Wisconsin Statutes on a recurring basis by an amount not to exceed $300,000 in the 2009-10 school year, an additional amount not to exceed $250,000 in the 2010-2011 school year, an additional amount not to exceed $200,000 in the 2011-2012 school year, and an additional amount not to exceed $150,000 in the 2012-2013 school year in order to pay for operating and maintenance costs

Result

Approved by 1,488 to 771 on November 4 after being defeated in April 2008.
